Analysis of Eclipse Creative Website

Before settling on analising www.eclipsecreative.co.uk
I looked at www.atticusmedia.co.uk
and www.no-brake.com as well.
Eclipse Creative deal with Graphic Design, production for television, print, and New Media.
Some of their clients include:
  • Channel 4,
  • S4C,
  • Wales Quality Centre,
  • Ladbrokes,
  • Plumbline,
  • WDA,
  • Bafta Cymru,
  • Wales Screen Commision.
The types of work they have produced are:
  • Brand animation ising image packages and after effects
  • TV Titles
  • Video Editind
  • Live action filming
  • Music Festival Titles
  • Childrens TV Series Titles
  • Modelling and Animation
  • Promo Videos
  • Website Design
Looking at the website your first impression is of a slick contemporarylooking engaging page with plenty of visual emphasive to interest the viewer. My only real problem is with the logo and background animation (still image with ken burns effect), which takes up at the top a good third of the screen easily. This seems like a waste of space but it does get used when you watch videos of work produced. There is text above the logo which is way too small to be legible and is the only text embeddid in Flash so can't even be resized. If you went to the bother of trying to read it, it seems to be in Latin anyway so your unlikely to even understand it.

The good points of the site are: the images in the centre of the site directly relate to videos that they are linked to when you click on them and you get good background desriptions of the work produced and the videos play without a hitch. The page have a visual consitancy in layout but vary the logos background image and main background colour on everypage giving you visual cues that you are moving around the site.
